Jason Lublin Exits as Endeavor CFO to Join Patrick Whitesell’s WTSL
After almost two decades at Endeavor, Jason Lublin is leaving to join the investment firm of former colleague Patrick Whitesell — another alum of Endeavor and WME.
Lublin is joining Whitesell’s WTSL, an investment firm focused on media, entertainment and sports, as president and partner. Lublin will work with Whitesell “to expand the firm’s investment strategy and support the next generation of companies and talent across these evolving industries,” the company said Friday.
WTSL is backed by a $250 million investment from Silver Lake, the private-equity firm that took Endeavor Group private earlier this year in a $25 billion deal. With that transaction, Whitesell left Endeavor and WME and received a $100 million cash payout under the go-private deal.
In addition to his position at WTSL, Lublin will serve as president and COO of Win Sports Group, the pro football representation firm headed by Whitesell that was carved out of WME Group to comply with the NFL’s conflict-of-interest rules.
Lublin most recently was CFO at Endeavor Group, a position he held for the vast majority of his tenure at the agency. He served at various points as the company’s COO and as president of IMG College. Throughout his time at Endeavor, he oversaw and managed more than 30 acquisitions, integrations and partnerships, including leading Endeavor Talent Agency’s merger with William Morris Agency. He also was “integral to negotiating and executing” the firm’s acquisitions of IMG, UFC, and On Location Experiences, per WTSL’s announcement. He also helped shepherd Endeavor’s IPO in 2021, as well as the subsequent merger of UFC and WWE to form TKO Group Holdings and the go-private deal with Silver Lake.
WTSL’s recent deals include a strategic investment in Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions sports media company and a joint venture with Universal Music Group to “expand opportunities around artist-led IP.”
“Jason is one of the most experienced and respected dealmakers in our industry,” Whitesell said in a statement. “He has spent his career executing some of the most complicated and impactful transactions in media and sports, and his operational expertise across global businesses will be a major advantage as we grow WTSL and work with partners shaping the future of these industries.”
Egon Durban, co-CEO of Silver Lake, commented: “Jason’s talent, expertise, creativity and passion at the leading edge of dealmaking and business model innovation across the media, entertainment and sports landscape is unmatched. I am grateful for his contributions over many years as part of the Endeavor family and am excited for him to continue to do great things in his new role at WTSL in partnership with Patrick.”
In a statement provided by WTSL, Lublin said he is “excited to join Patrick again in building a firm that can support entrepreneurs, creators and companies through both capital and operational partnership. These sectors are entering a new era, and we’re committed to working alongside those who will lead it.”
